Price Gouging Statute in Effect
Price gouging protections pertaining to goods and services, including motor fuel, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products, that were invoked by the State of Emergency for Tropical Storm Helene, went into effect for the entire state of Georgia on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, and remained in effect until 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. It was then renewed until 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 for the following counties only: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Baldwin, Ben Hill, Berrien, Bleckley, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Butts, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Echols, Effingham, Elbert, Emanuel, Evans, Glascock, Glynn, Hancock, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Liberty, Lincoln, Long, Lowndes, Madison, McDuffie, McIntosh, Montgomery, Newton, Pierce, Putnam, Rabun, Richmond, Screven, Taliaferro, Tattnall, Telfair, Tift, Toombs, Treutlen, Turner, Ware, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Wheeler, Wilkes, Wilkinson, and Worth.
Concurrently, price gouging protections pertaining to goods and services, including motor fuel, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products, that were invoked by the State of Emergency for Hurricane Milton, went into effect on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, and shall remain in effect until 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 for the following counties only: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Berrien, Bibb, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Butts, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Crisp, Dougherty, Echols, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Houston, Jeff Davis, Lanier, Liberty, Long, Lowndes, McIntosh, Monroe, Muscogee, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Toombs, Ware, and Wayne.
