Consumer Complaint Form

Our mission at the Georgia Department of Law's Consumer Protection Division is to make the marketplace safer for all consumers. Use this form to provide information about suspicious or improper business practices that you are experiencing which may affect the general public. Numerous complaints may indicate a pattern of fraudulent or deceptive conduct in consumer transactions that would allow us to take action on behalf of the State. (Click here for complaints covered by Georgia's Lemon Law. A different form is required.)

We review matters involving goods or services that you pay to use yourself, or for your family or household; we cannot consider transactions for investment or profit, or most transactions that are between businesses. Likewise, many consumer transactions are within the primary jurisdiction of another government agency at the state, federal or local level and those issues must be referred to that entity.

We represent the State of Georgia as a whole. We do not and cannot represent you in your dispute, nor can we provide you personal legal advice. Seek the services of a private attorney for representation or advice.

All information this Division receives becomes part of our permanent public records, subject to Georgia's Open Records Act. Do not include sensitive information such as account numbers or Social Security numbers. Anonymous complaints can be submitted. Information submitted may also be shared with the relevant business or regulatory agency.
